Panthers News · Answering a Few Common Questions Regarding Athletic PE Classes 2020-2021

  • CIF has merged the typical 3 seasons into 2 seasons beginning in December. The list of sports for the 2 seasons can be found HERE.
  • Although competition for Season 1 (aka Fall because it begins during the Fall semester) doesn’t start until mid December, Season 1/Fall Sport student-athletes will still be enrolled in a 5th period Athletic PE class.  Season 2/Spring Sport competition begins in March, and student-athletes will be enrolled in an Athletic PE class for 3rd & 4th Quarter.  Only a few Spring Sports have an off season class in the Fall – check with your coach.  Student-athletes can enroll in 3 other classes (regular day 2nd-4th period) each term.  Courses will need to be discussed with the student’s counselor.
  • Student-athletes will earn credits for their Athletic PE class.  This is why they are enrolled in the class from the beginning of the term.
  • As part of the Athletic PE class, coaches will assign workouts for student-athletes to accomplish individually until we are allowed by the state, county, and school district to hold small group conditioning workouts in Phase 1.  The expectation for completion of individual workouts may look drastically different than the voluntary workouts that occurred in Spring.
  • Once we reach Phase 1, Season 1 teams will begin to hold conditioning practices during 5th period, or after school.  Coaches will inform their student-athletes when and where to meet.
